When a devastating epidemic strikes the royal house of Kad, only a healer from an enemy land can save them. Sultan Kuramos bends his pride to ask help from Teganne and its court healer, Varene.

But can arrogant Kuramos save his heart from the feisty, independent Varene? And can Varene abandon her principles for the fascinating sultan, a man who already has six gorgeous wives?

The Huntress of Fate

The brazen Princess Zahlia returns to her desert homeland and finds its Machiavellian ruler, her sister's husband, tightening a sinister noose around their people. For Zahlia to overthrow him and free her sister, she must relinquish her cherished liberty and bind herself to a dangerous hunter, Khalid—the hot-blooded one-night-stand she'd sworn never to touch again.

Ambitious Khalid, long persecuted by the tyrannical ruler, stands to gain everything from the union—but wary Zahlia, who seduced him with a forest god's magic spell, is the reward he really wants. Snared in a maze of deadly schemes and intrigue, can they forge a true bond from their passion and claim the thrones?

The Ocean Between Us

The Sea-god Poseidon covets the Land
and grows restless...

King Kyros returns from battle to find his sister raped and his kingdom destroyed by one of Poseidon's sons. When Kyros sets sail for Zeus's temple to demand justice, he barely survives a shipwreck that drowns his entire crew—and washes ashore on the isle of the immortal Siren who caused it.

The Siren Mareisa was born a mermaid, but Poseidon's mistress cursed her to sing sailors to their doom. Now her ruined life is invaded by a fierce, vexatiously sexy mortal who seeks revenge. But even more, Kyros wants to bring down Poseidon's powerful junta—and so does Mareisa.

In the violent stillness before a war between the gods, two passionate enemies may join forces...and change the destinies of man and gods alike.

The Faery Fiancée

A dangerous family secret forces the no-nonsense aristocrat Aleron on an insane quest: within ten days, he must woo, bed, and wed a woman with faery blood. And in that particular order.

A half-blooded faery, Zara, must procure an amulet to protect her newfound powers, or the god Hermes' singing gnomes will filch her magic. The goddesses of Olympus are feisty Zara's only hope, but to reach them, she needs skeptical Aleron's help.

The last thing Zara wants is to behave like her wanton, pariah mother, but Aleron, a hot-blooded man now on a quest of his own, is Temptation itself...

My Soul to Keep

Claire Alexander is a reclusive jewelry artist in California. She thinks her life's working just fine, until she gets a mysterious package from her dead father. The green stone inside sends her soul into the body of Lyssa, an engaged and hunted woman on a medieval world. And soon Claire falls for dark and brooding Ronan, the best friend of Lyssa's fiancé!

Can Claire unravel the secrets and undo the switch before both women's lives are ruined—and will she be able to leave Ronan, the man who would give up his kin and his heritage to love her?

The Source of Magic

Where's 9-1-1 when you need it? It's not in Teganne, the magical realm into which Jilian Stewart has been kidnapped. Prince Alvarr, her gorgeous abductor, offers a cure for her mother's lethal illness—but can't send Jilian home with it until she helps him destroy the evil wizard threatening Teganne.

To succeed, Jilian must release the mystical powers hidden deep inside her, confront her mother's secret past, and choose between safety and love.

The Lure of Magic

When the mage Rokad sacrifices his magical powers to protect his prince, he also forfeits his life purpose and his deepest joy. Asked to tutor the prince's grown daughter Qiara, Rokad doubts whether anyone or anything could temper the fiery princess.

Will Qiara, a mage who craves a challenge to prove herself and her powers, discover how to heal Rokad's broken soul—and win his heart?

About Cate

I'm pretty sure I was born with a book clutched in my fist.  Reading was my first love, and writing became a force in my life when clever elementary school teachers assigned weekly creative writing projects.  I wrote through high school, particularly when bored in class.  (Rumor has it those early pages consisted of fantasies about Duran Duran, but I'm silent on the issue and keep those notebooks from prying eyes.)

I put fiction aside to earn a Ph.D. in the biological sciences—but my muse, though stuffed in a dark closet, never shut up.  In the fall of 2000 I joined an online writers group, but was still afraid to fail at the thing I loved most.  In March 2001 I learned of an upcoming contest for unpublished novelists: the Winning Beginnings Contest.  I realized this was the boot in the butt I needed.  I snared every thread of courage and began my first novel.  You can read about the genesis of that novel, The Source of Magic, in the Crumbs in the Keyboard anthology.

The Source of Magic won second place in that contest and the final judge, an editor at Berkley/Jove, requested the full manuscript.  That began the "Summer of Writing, Stress, and Butt Glued to the Chair."  I finished the manuscript in two months.

I credit my favorite authors—a list that includes J.R.R. Tolkien, Guy Gavriel Kay, Anne McCaffrey, Ursula K. LeGuin, James Herriot, and C.S. Lewis—for my love of fiction, great characters, and a rich imagination.  I also thank my family for forgiving all those times I brought a book to dinner.
